k Goatluver, just got final confirmation from Smitty... his fans are working perfectly... so make those changes/adjustments I mentioned, and you should be all set.

if they still don't work for ya, send me a copy of the tune that's in your car now, and I'll make ya a custom tune for it...

Very cool Lew. Will do when I get my car back since its still bLoWn up. About two more weeks out.

Forged bottom end, more head work, rebuilt T56, and 6 puck clutch.

I still owe you for the last tune and will make due once I get the final bill for the GTO. Gulp.

haha... np man...

yeah, try it by adjusting them through the predator... and if they still don't work correctly for ya that way, let me know...

I'll have ya copy the current tune outta your car and email it to me, and I will tweak it and make you a new custom tune.

and THEN pay up, and then I'll remove the 65mph speed limiter I put in your tune!! LMAO!!

j/k man...

My GTO is back together again and I made the fan settings Lew mentioned. With the fans at 0% up to 199F at 25%, they do not run all the time. I do have a 160 stat installed so I wonder if the fans only turning on at 199F will cause any issues. We shall see.

I take back that the new settings worked. All they did were make the fans not run at all.

Changes I made two weeks ago.

192 0
196 0
199 25
203 50
206 75
210 > 90

Fans did not run at all after installing tune. When I first made the change I did not let the car warm up. Just start and check on the fans which were not running. The weather turned for the worse the past two weeks so the car stayed in the garage. Today I drove it to work and didnt notice any issues with the temp per the gauge. The driving was on the freeway the entire time. When I came home I wanted to check to make sure the fans were running so I attached the Predator and logged engine coolant temp. Sitting at an idle in the driveway the temp crept up past 211 so I checked under the hood and the fans were not running. The first change I made was:

192 0
196 0
199 50
203 75
206 75
210 > 90

Started the car and the fans were still not running. Changed back to the oringal settings and the fans do not spin; ECT was at 118. Let the car sit and idle to monitor if the fans would come on at 199. Watched the real time data of the ECT climb past 199 and neither fan turned on.

192 0
196 0
199 25
203 50
206 75
210 > 90

Changed all the fan settings back to the stock listed.

192 25
196 25
199 25
203 25
206 25
210 25
214 25
217 25
221 49
225 49
228 51
231 51

239 and 250 do not display on the Fan Control on the Predator.

Loaded the tune and let the car cool down to 177. Started the car and watched the real time data ECT climb past 210 > but no fans running.

Let car cool down to 163 and set them back to where I had them originally.

192 25
196 50
199 75
203 > 99

Started the car and the fans run all time so back to square one again. Will keep these settings for now so the car doesnt over heat in traffic. Issue is when driving the car its in the 170 ECT range, and that was in the summer.

Lew and/or Johan....help!

Loaded the custom tune and fans still run all the time. :(

Made sure to Reset All Parameters before loading the new tune. When I started the car I logged Fan Speed and Desired Fan Speed but they both displayed 0.00. Checked the Fan Control and 192 is at 14% and so on.

All of my tunes have been based off of the 91 Octane Tune from CROM 7r97. Could that possibly have anything to do with the issue?

I found some information about LS2 fan control and programming.
