Hi guys, I recently purchased an I-1000 from approved vendor and using the quick start menu in box last night, I updated the firmware and tuned my car. So I have yet to download the full manual and read but have 2 questions.

1. I have heard from friend that I can save my stock tune on my PC as well in case the I-1000 dies. Can you tell me if full manual tells me how to do this?

2. But I had read on another site selling these for corvettes, that the "Skip Shift" or "1st to 4th" feature would automatically be disabled. But today that same stupid "1st to 4th" was active. My friend had told me today that I might need to download an extra file into I-1000 and then retune car. Will full manual have steps on how to do this? And how can I get the extra file?

By the way, the stock tune for my car has been awesome so far...

the backup is on the intune drive in the tunes folder, but saving a copy is not needed.
Skip shift should disable, was it just the light or actually locked you out of 2nd?

Light came on and as usual, I could not shift into 2nd or 3rd until light went off...

Looks like someone else asked same question in May with a 2008 vette.

But I am 99% sure that I updated I-1000 correctly and installed custom tune directly. Maybe I will go through same process one more time...

And forgive me for asking, but why wouldn't I want to backup my stock tune in case my Diablo died? Wouldn't my stock tune be lost forever at that point?

if the tool itself was damaged or no longer worked, we still would not have a way to get the backup you saved onto another tool to restore. The only way to get the vehicle back to stock, if that instance ever occurred, would be the dealer or shipping the computer here to be flashed. This doesn't happen very often, though.

With intune we can always get the vehicle back to stock if needed...

Alright guys. I restored tune to car. Connected Diablo to laptop and internet and there are no more updates. Retuned car using stock Diablo tune. The "Skip Shift" (1st to 4th) feature is still active. Light comes on and shifting into 2nd or 3rd is blocked. I know Mikel said it should be automatically disabled but it isn't. Now what. I bought the I-1000 for this specific feature first and tune 2nd...

Did they disable for a regular 2002 vette and not the Z06 which is a different engine (and hopefully a different tune)?

here you go, save to intune drive and let it import the file then load the custom tune.
