Newbie - Unable to Read Vehicle Type

Just bought a brand new Predator from Summit, U7198 Rev2. I followed all of the directions but I get an error message that says "unable to read vehicle type(1)" Even tried cycling the key on and off. When I tried to retrieve the VIN it was not able to connect. This is on a 2000 GMC Sierra.

options/troubleshooting/show calid, anything?

I will have to check. So far, it acts like it is not even plugged in. If it wasn't from Summit, I would seriously question what I had purchased.

Still nothing from going to the Options screen and trying to troubleshoot. Still does not detect my vehicle.

I bought the same unit, also from summit, 02 Avalanche. Doing the same thing, new battery, removed fuses like they said. Unable to read vehicle type.

Same unit U7193 and having problems.
First time it locked up my PCM and Predator!?
They gave me free shipping to send in PCM and Predator.
Fast turn around then reinstalled and ran OK.
Uploaded Diablo performance tune and now it will start for 1 second then die.
Error message "Main Power Relay". Checked all fuses and swapped relays, No-Go.
Installed my spare PCM and starts and drives normal.
What gives here!?
I wonder if Sumitt will give me a refund????????
